One step at a time

Let’s make it

  1. Coffee Base

Bring the water to a boil in a small pot on the stovetop.

  2. Coffee Base

Add the ground coffee to the boiling water, reduce heat to low, and let steep for 4 minutes to brew a strong coffee.

  3. Coffee Base

Remove the pot from heat and strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter into a heatproof container. Let cool to room temperature.

  4. Flavoring

In a separate container, combine the cooled brewed coffee with the vanilla syrup and milk, stirring well to blend.

  5. Assembly

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the vanilla coffee mixture over the ice and stir to chill thoroughly.

  6. Assembly

Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy your refreshing stovetop vanilla iced coffee with milk.

A little kitchen wisdom

Tips & notes

For stronger coffee flavor, increase coffee grounds slightly or steep longer. Use whole milk for a richer creaminess or substitute with a milk alternative as desired. Chill brewed coffee in the fridge if preferred before assembling.

Saving it for later

Store any leftover brewed coffee mixture separate from ice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Stir before serving again; best consumed fresh.

Reheating

This iced coffee is intended to be served cold and does not require reheating. If reheated, it will lose the refreshing quality and ice cubes will melt.
