Let’s make it
coffee preparation
Bring 500 milliliters of filtered water to a near boil in a saucepan over medium heat.
coffee preparation
Remove from heat and add 30 grams of coarsely ground coffee to the hot water. Let it steep for about 4 minutes to extract a strong brew.
coffee preparation
After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter into a container to remove grounds. Let the coffee cool slightly.
flavoring
Stir 45 milliliters of vanilla syrup into the brewed coffee until well combined. Refrigerate for 10 minutes or until chilled if desired.
serving
Fill a tall glass with 6 pieces of ice cubes. Pour the vanilla coffee over the ice until about three-quarters full.
serving
Slowly add 180 milliliters of chilled whole milk to the glass. Stir gently to combine but maintain a layered aesthetic if desired.
serving
Serve immediately with a straw or spoon to mix further as you drink. Enjoy your smooth stovetop vanilla iced coffee!
Tips & notes
Use freshly ground coffee for a richer flavor. Adjust vanilla syrup quantity to your taste preference. Brew stronger coffee if you prefer more intense flavor. Chill brewed coffee quickly by placing it in the fridge to keep it fresh and reduce bitterness.
Saving it for later
Store leftover brewed vanilla coffee in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Keep milk separate and add fresh when serving. Do not store iced coffee after adding ice to avoid dilution.
Reheating
This is a cold drink and not intended for reheating. Prepare fresh for the best flavor and experience.
