One step at a time

Let’s make it

  1. Tea Base

Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.

  2. Tea Base

Once boiling, remove from heat and add black tea leaves and sliced peaches into the saucepan. Cover and let steep for 8 minutes to extract full flavor.

  3. Tea Base

After steeping, strain the tea into a heatproof pitcher, removing the tea leaves and peach slices.

  4. Sweetener

While the tea is still warm, stir in granulated sugar until fully dissolved to sweeten, or adjust according to preference.

  5. Flavoring

Add fresh mint leaves to the warm tea and let steep for 5 minutes to infuse the mint flavor.

  6. Flavoring

Remove mint leaves by straining or skimming. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.

  7. Serving

Serve the chilled peach mint iced tea over ice cubes in glasses, optionally garnished with fresh mint sprigs or peach slices.

A little kitchen wisdom

Tips & notes

For a stronger peach flavor, add a small amount of peach nectar or puree before chilling. Adjust sweetness to your taste by adding more or less sugar, or substitute with honey or agave syrup if preferred.

Saving it for later

Store any leftover tea covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir before serving as some settling may occur.

Reheating

This iced tea is best served cold and is not intended for reheating. If desired warm, reheat gently on the stovetop until hot but not boiling.
