Let’s make it
Coffee Brew
In a small pot, bring 300 milliliters of water to a gentle boil on the stovetop.
Coffee Brew
Remove from heat and add 20 grams of medium ground coffee. Stir, cover the pot, and let steep for 4 minutes to brew a strong coffee concentrate.
Coffee Brew
Strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter into a heatproof container to remove grounds.
Flavoring
While the coffee is still warm, stir in 15 grams of sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness as desired.
Cooling
Allow the coffee to cool to room temperature, then place it in the refrigerator until chilled, about 20 minutes.
Finish
Fill a serving glass with 6 ice cubes. Pour the chilled coffee over the ice, then add 120 milliliters of cold milk to the glass. Stir gently to combine.
Finish
Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade vanilla iced coffee with milk.
Tips & notes
For a richer flavor, use whole milk or a milk alternative like oat milk. You can prepare the coffee concentrate in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours to save time.
Saving it for later
Store any leftover coffee concentrate covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Do not keep iced coffee with milk for storing; prepare fresh each time.
Reheating
This iced coffee is best served cold and is not recommended for reheating. Prepare a fresh batch of coffee if warm coffee is desired.
