Ingredients

Let’s make it
Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels.
Toast the bread slices until golden brown to your preference.
Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each toasted bread slice.
On one slice of bread, layer the crispy bacon, tomato slices, and lettuce leaves.
Season the tomato slices lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper if desired.
Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, to close the sandwich.
Cut the sandwich in half diagonally and serve immediately.
Tips & notes
For best results, use thick-cut bacon and ripe tomatoes. Toast the bread just before assembling for maximum crunch. Adjust mayonnaise to your preference or substitute with avocado spread for a twist.
Saving it for later
If you have leftovers, wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate. Consume within 1 day for best freshness; note that the bread may lose crispness and the bacon may soften.
Reheating
This sandwich is best served fresh and not reheated, as the bread and lettuce can become soggy. If necessary, reheat bacon separately in a skillet to regain crispness before assembling a fresh sandwich.
