Let’s make it
Coffee Base
Heat the water to boiling in a saucepan on the stovetop. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the ground coffee. Stir and steep covered for 4 minutes.
Coffee Base
Strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter into a heatproof container. Set aside to cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Cinnamon Milk
In a separate small saucepan, combine the milk, ground cinnamon, and sugar if using. Heat over medium heat until just about to simmer, stirring frequently to dissolve sugar and infuse cinnamon flavor, about 5 minutes. Do not boil.
Cinnamon Milk
Remove the cinnamon milk from heat and let it cool slightly. Then chill in the refrigerator until cold, about 15 minutes.
Serving
Fill serving glasses with ice cubes. Pour chilled coffee about halfway up the glass, then top with chilled cinnamon milk. Stir gently before drinking.
Tips & notes
You can adjust the sugar amount or omit it to taste. Use freshly ground coffee for best flavor. Ensure coffee and milk are well chilled before assembling for a refreshing iced drink.
Saving it for later
Store any leftover brewed coffee and cinnamon milk separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator and use within 2 days. Do not store assembled iced coffee to prevent dilution and texture loss.
Reheating
Not intended for reheating. Serve immediately after assembling for best flavor and texture.
