One step at a time

Let’s make it

  1. Salad Base

Wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.

  2. Assembling Salad

Add diced cooked chicken breast, crumbled cooked bacon, diced avocado, chopped hard-boiled eggs, halved cherry tomatoes, and crumbled blue cheese over the lettuce in the bowl in separate sections for a classic Cobb presentation or mixed if preferred.

  3. Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and olive oil until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. Finishing

Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving, or serve separately if preferred. Toss gently to coat evenly just before eating.

A little kitchen wisdom

Tips & notes

To save time, use rotisserie chicken or pre-cooked chicken breast. For crunch, add chopped walnuts or pecans as garnish. Adjust the dressing ingredients to your taste preference, adding a splash of lemon juice for brightness if desired.

Saving it for later

Store leftover salad components separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator. Keep dressing in a sealed jar or container. Use leftover salad within 3 days. Avoid dressing the salad until ready to serve to prevent sogginess.

Reheating

This salad is best served cold or at room temperature. Do not reheat. If storing leftovers, re-toss with fresh dressing if needed before serving again.
