One step at a time

Let’s make it

  1. Tea Base

Bring 720 milliliters of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the black tea bags in the hot water for 5 minutes to make a strong brew. Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.

  2. Mango Puree

While the tea is cooling, peel and pit the ripe mango. Blend the mango flesh until smooth to prepare the mango puree.

  3. Mixing

In a pitcher, combine the cooled black tea and mango puree. Stir in honey and fresh lemon juice, if using, until fully blended and sweetened to your preference.

  4. Finishing

Add ice cubes to the pitcher or to individual serving glasses. Pour the mango iced tea over the ice to chill thoroughly.

  5. Serving

Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves, if desired, and serve immediately for a refreshing drink.

A little kitchen wisdom

Tips & notes

Use ripe, fragrant mangoes for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness with honey or omit for a naturally sweetened drink. Brew stronger tea if you prefer a bolder tea flavor. Lemon juice balances the sweetness nicely but can be omitted if preferred.

Saving it for later

Store leftover mango iced tea in a covered pitcher or container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Stir well before serving.

Reheating

This beverage is intended to be served chilled and does not require reheating. If stored refrigerated, serve over fresh ice.
